gk-sm.jpgThe Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), planned for construction at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), in close partnership with the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (TJNAF) will be an exciting new facility enabling frontier research in nuclear physics, with initial operation planned for early 2030s. The EIC project is in very exciting phase of new technologies development and many fascinating, high precision tests. This talk will present the main news about the EIC project, but will focus on two example projects needed for development of the new high-performance DIRC technology.
